Déscription Cyanotype is an old monochrome photographic printing process which gives a cyan-blue print. The English scientist and astronomer Sir John Herschel discovered this procedure in 1842.
In 1843 Anna Atkins (1799–1871) began making cyanotypes in an effort to visualize and distribute information about her collection of seaweeds.
For this piece, I experimented printing on different type of fabric with roots, leaves, flowers found in the wood near by. Here are roots small and all tangled together, giving a feeling of connection, to our past, to our people, to our soul. I stretched the piece around an embroidery hoop (Bamboo). (You can hang at your convenience, or use the ... suite ruban provided).
I expose all my pieces in natural light. Printing on sunny days, doing everything by eye and in the most organic way possible.
Title, year and signed at the back, on the fabric, inside the hoop.
